Originally established in 1967 as the Queensland and Northern Rivers Funeral Directors’ Association, QFDA has developed into the state’s primary Association of Funeral Directors. Apart from Brisbane, it has members in all provincial cities and most smaller towns across the state.

QFDA members have access to funeral directors in all other states of Australia and also in New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. International links are also available to aid in the repatriation of bodies to all overseas countries.
